Embraced creative freedom to craft evocative imagery
The person wants me to write something freely — anything — that will be used to generate an image. Day 5 of what seems like a series. Let me just write something genuine and evocative.
A chair at the edge of a salt flat at dusk. The kind of chair someone carried out there on purpose — wooden, ladder-back, one leg slightly shorter than the others. No table. No second chair. The sky is doing something unreasonable with pink. The salt reflects it poorly, like a mirror that has given up trying. There are no footprints leading to the chair or away from it. There is a glass of water on the ground beside it, half full, absolutely still. Something was here recently. Something is about to arrive. The horizon is so flat and so far that the eye doesn't know what to do with itself and so it just rests, finally, like it has been waiting all day for permission.
